If anyone happens to go on over into the item shop, they'll find a man -- who, to be quite honest, looks more like a boy, if anything -- curled up on the floor of one of the back corners, next to a large pile of stuffed animals and, uh... pillows. He may or may not have knocked all of these over in his sleep. He's quite a graceful sleeper over there, you see. Especially since he's curled up all over one of those pillows. A very large one of those pillows with an image of a certain Toshizo Hijikata on it. Is he aware of it? nope.

...Yeah. May wanna wake him up.]

[The following day, once he's more or less settled and kind of knows of what's going on here, he can be found walking over to Seventh Heaven for food. Except once he gets to the restaurant? He finds the bar. But he decides to actually not get a real drink for once while there. Instead, he gets one of these... milkshake things. A chocolate milkshake. What the heck is a chocolate milkshake. He's staring this thing down with a raised eyebrow before trying it.]

Huh...

[ Daily rounds? Yup, item shop included. Though Souji doesn't typically venture inside, today he sort of figured that he needed some more of that bagged stuff that said "cat food" for Toshizo so that stupid feline doesn't keep stealing his fish. Or something like that.

But he wasn't expecting to see an old comrade sleeping like he always does. And-- ew. What is that?

If Heisuke wakes up, he might find Souji trying to pull that abomination out of his arms. This sort of thing should not be allowed ever. Why does it even exist here???????? ]

[Willow, still newly released, decides to take a snack break--she's been researching in the library almost all day now, after all, and isn't exactly making progress anyway.

So into Seventh Heaven she goes, and mosies up to the bar. As she decides what to get, the boy to her left catches her eye: Not only does he look ridiculous, but he's also staring at his milkshake like it's about to eat him, not the other way around.

Settling into her seat, she looks over at him and gingerly points to the mysterious beverage.]

I think it's probably safe to eat. Or...drink, as the case may be. [Are both verbs applicable here? Oh well, not important!]

[Orphen hasn't been here very long, but Seventh Heaven? Definitely a place he will be frequenting. So he will be here as well when Heisuke discovers the joys of rainbow brussel sprouts and platypi— I mean, milkshakes?! He'll be sitting at the bar for a while, drinking an ice cream float that isn't really as awesome as the ones the old man used to make. But he can see this guy who's been staring at his drink for a while out of the corner of his eye, so he can't help but say something.]

Stare at it any harder and maybe it'll do a trick.

[It's Hijikata making sexy poses on a pillow, Souji. I mean, come on.

But yeah Heisuke doesn't actually wake up just yet! Instead, he's making some sort of grumbling noise as Souji tries to pull his precious pillow out of his arms. Just gonna cling onto this thing more tightly now. ]

[If anything, to Heisuke, most of the people here look ridiculous, save for him, Souji, and some others. You people and your weird clothing...!

He glances over at Willow when he notices her plopping onto the seat near him, then back at the milkshake.]

Huh? You sure? I mean, I've seen people drinking 'em, so I figured as much, but... Have you tried one of these?

[No it's totally a cup full of rainbow brussel sprouts and platypi. I mean, come on, Trap! Heisuke doesn't even bother to turn over and see the guy speaking to him. Instead, he nearly jumps in his seat and stares at his beverage as if it's now a cup of rainbow brussel sprouts and rabid platypi.]

...W-whaa..?! Are you serious?!

[BUT IT'S JUST A DRINK, ISN'T IT...]

[ Tug, tug. Of course. ]

Heisuke-kun? [ Using that level of voice that might be loud enough to wake him up. ] I don't think our vice-commander appreciates you hugging him like that.

[..Oh. Yep that's certainly loud enough for him to hear! He's still tired though, so he sounds rather groggy as he speaks.]

Souji... What the hell are you talking about..?! I'm not--

[..and then he opens his eyes and stares at the hideous thing for a moment.

[......SCREAM WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING AND WHY WAS HE HUGGING IT WHAT

Immediately just. Backing the hell away like it has some sort of disease on it.]

W-whaaaat...?! Is that... H-Hijikata-san?! [WHY IS HE ON THAT THING DOING.. THINGS..]

[She can't help but chuckle at his skepticism.]

Of course. It's just syrup, ice cream and milk. Blended together into yummy, chocolatey goodness. Kids love 'em. [She doesn't outright say "kids like you," but it's there in her tone for those who pay attention.]

[He kind of notices it, and even makes a bit of a face when she says it, but he'll shrug that off.. for now..! He grins.]

Really... In that case, I guess I gotta try it then, huh?

[I mean, yummy, chocolatey goodness sure sounds uh. Yummy.]

[She doesn't respond verbally, but simply sits with an expectant look on her face.

Don't be shy...!]

[Oh man, this kid. Maybe he sucks with sarcasm? Orphen considers telling him the truth, but... then he decides to have a little fun.]

Of course I'm serious. Go ahead, try it.

[Alright then, bottoms up!

Heisuke takes a rather large first sip (for lack of a better term) and his eyes go wide in pleasant surprise.]

Woah... You were right; this really does taste good! [Actually it tastes amazing. But yeah.]

[Hey, he's never seen a milkshake before, okay! He's assuming this other guy knows what he's talking about. Except he can't help but feel a little suspicious of that since...]

I've been staring at it for a while now and it hasn't done anything though!

Trust me, it'll do something.

[Don't be suspicious, Heisuke! It won't be anything bad, promise.]

[Now the witch laughs freely--out of genuine mirth, not in a mocking way. His reaction...well, it's cute, and since her general mood has been pretty horrible for the past day now, anything helps.]

I'm glad you like it. [She takes the opportunity to order her own milkshake. Strawberry.]

Don't drink it too fast, though. That's a one-way ticket to the scary land of brain freezes.

[..What's so funny...! He gives Willow a bit of a confused look for a moment, but then just smiles. Strawberry milkshake, huh...

He lets out a laugh at the latter comment.]

Hahaha! Don't worry about that. I'll be fine!

[Which is why he's going to drink this kind of quickly anyway oops.]

[NOPE TOTALLY SUSPICIOUS ANYWAY.]

Really... It's just a drink though, isn't it?

If you say so. [She shrugs. No skin off her nose if he wants to find out the hard way, right? And besides, some people don't get brain freezes very easily.]

[He's got this! So he'll just keep on drinking yup.]
